Globalise And Valtus – European Snack Food Business

A leading European food group had been working closely with new investors to support a challenging growth plan. This underpinned a doubling in size of the business when it merged with another company in 2016.

Following the merger, the return on investment was taking longer than expected. The investors decided to hasten the process by working with Globalise (Valtus Transition in France and the UK). The Globalise team helped the investors understand their challenges and assisted in finding a solution quickly and effectively.

Valtus Transition held a strong relation with the investors group.  Their recent acquisition of a leading London food company led to a number of competency gaps in their new organisational design. The close collaboration by Valtus in France and the UK led to a detailed understanding of their needs. There were two requests, both urgent, the first for a CFO on an interim basis and the second for a permanent HR Director.

Interim CFO UK

After receiving the brief, Valtus UK looked at their network of interim managers to find someone who had operated in an international food group and understood the private equity sector.

Valtus UK were quickly able to identify a candidate who was a perfect fit for the role. They also came with excellent testimonials having worked with Valtus previously.

Permanent HR UK Recruitment

The initial client introduction was provided by Valtus France. From there it was agreed that Valtus UK would manage the assignment directly with the client.

Valtus UK quickly established that there was a legacy of poor performance and lack of confidence in the HR function. The stakeholder did not have access to the depth of experience required to accelerate the transformation of the business.

As the search progressed, Valtus UK were able to shape the client’s thinking about the profile of the person who could be successful in the role. This enabled Valtus UK to identify several candidates whose HR experience matched the key requirements for the role. It was the strength of relationship with the client and ongoing communication that resulted in an appointment being made in record time.
