City Giving Day – Celebrating Philanthropy in the City

Valtus is a proud supporter of The Lord’s Mayor Appeal City Giving Day. Our Managing Partner, Nigel Peters, writes why City business should get involved.

Those of you whom have known Valtus for a while will recall that we were the proud recipients of a Lord’s Mayor Dragon Award in 2015. The award was for our charitable work in the City of London.

We continue to support the Lord Mayor’s campaign for A Better City For all. As part of that, I have the pleasure of helping the steering committee with the City Giving Day events.

This year, City Giving Day will be held on Tuesday 24th September. The goal of the day is to celebrate and encourage charitable efforts of City businesses and their employees. We aim to turn the city red, the event’s signature colour, and set the square mile abuzz with businesses showcasing their philanthropic work.

Business can take part by hosting their own fundraising drive or volunteering with charity partners. They can also participate in the events organised by the Lord Mayor’s appeal, such as the static bike challenge, City walk or treasure hunt.

City Giving Day and the Lord Mayor’s Appeal benefit City businesses and wider society alike. Taking part in charitable activities is great for staff morale, and makes a tremendous positive impact on the community.

Help us spread the word. Join in during the year help turn the city red on City Giving Day.
